Learn how to divide

The division is one of the major operations used in math including subtraction, addition, and multiplication. But like all the other operations, to learn how to divide the first thing that must be taught is to identify the dividend, divisor, and quotient.
A dividend is a large number that is being divided by the divisor.
As stated above, a divisor is a number that is used to divide the dividend.
Lastly, a quotient is an answer to the numbers you are dividing. There could also be a remainder to the quotient or what we call decimals.
Now, there is a common method used to divide numbers whether, with small or bigger ones, it is called the long division, let’s have an example first to understand it better.
We’ll have 100 as the dividend and the divisor would be 5. With long division, we need to first divide 1 with 5 which is not possible because 1 is less than 5 therefore we will have to include 0 to make it 10 then divide the numbers with each other. How many 5 are there in 10? There are 2, so we write 2 on top of the long division and proceed to multiply the 2 to the divisor 5 which will give us 10 and therefore we write 10 under the dividend.
After writing that we have to subtract the 10 from the dividend to the number 10 under it which is 0, therefore, we bring down the other 0 from our dividend which is 100. Then, we need to divide 0 by 5 which is 0 and we put that above the long division. Multiply the 0 on top of the long division to the divisor and we will have another 0 to put under again. We will now have two zeros under the dividend so we have to subtract them from each other, which is not necessary since we would still get another 0 but if by any chance the long division will have a remainder we would have to subtract them from each other to determine it. So, since we have 0 for the remainder, we can now say that 100 divided 5 is 20. In other terms, there are five 20 in a hundred.
