2nd Grade Comparison Game - Greater than, less or equal to - Things that are important to you have different values, some are greater than the other and the other is lesser than the other. You love things differently and that is why in mathematics, there are symbols that show which one is greater than or less than the other number. Knowing which is greater gives you the idea of which one is more important. For example, are toys more important than food? No, food is more important than toys because you can live without toys, but you can't live without food. In mathematics, if the number is larger then it means it's greater, meaning the other number is lesser than that number. For example, 70 and 100, if 100 is greater than the other number, basically that number is less than 100. Or we could say, 70 < 100. The words less than are represented by <, while the words greater than are represented by the symbol >. As what the examples are given before, these comparisons between number can also be used for objects and things that are important to us. When we are trying to compare two important things, we tend to stick with the one that has the greater value for us.
