When you are looking at a clock, you will see numbers, those numbers tell you different times of the day. If your bedtime is 9 o'clock in the evening and you look at the clock by then, you will see that the long hand on the clock is pointing at the number 12 while the smaller hand is pointing at the number 9. Every time that the long hand is pointing at the number 12, the time would be an exact hour or o'clock depending on which number the shorter hand is pointing.
