4th Grade Division With Remainders Game - Did you have fun with your division-without-remainders game? Wanna learn more? Don’t fret, because we have a lot more in store for you! Next up, we explore the lesson about division with remainders! We already know that remainder is the number left when we divide two numbers. Still a little bit confused about the concept? Imagine this: If you have 9 candies and you thought of sharing these equally with your four friends. How many candies will you have? If you have given two candies each to your friends, you would have shared 8 candies overall. Only 1 candy will remain with you, and this leftover of 1 candy is called the remainder. Got it? Fantastic! Now, let’s proceed to the lesson proper. The process of division with remainders is in similarity with the process of division without remainders! It’s just that when we get to the end of a problem, wherein all numbers are brought down, and as we subtract the last numbers it is not equal to 0 but instead, it has a leftover, we write a little ‘r’ above the answer line, then we put the remaining amount in (for ex. if we divide 19 by 5, there will be a remainder 4, so 3 r4 is the final answer). Note that remainders should never be ignored! And there you have it, you are finally prepared to take the game! Break a leg!
