5th grade division by ten game - Life is all fun and games until we are introduced to the concepts and fundamentals of Mathematics. It is kind of a rollercoaster ride, wherein you have mixed feelings toward it. There are feelings of confusion, head-itching, and stress as to where are you headed next, but there are also feeling of enjoyment and relief while doing it. Perhaps the most significant reason to study mathematics is that it improves problem-solving abilities. Every person should be able to reason and think analytically about a situation. Our minds are trained to seek answers in a logical manner as a result of the habits of mind associated with learning mathematics. There are a lot of advantages to learning mathematics, and we just cannot notice it! Hey, kids! Another day, another Math learnings! For today’s topic, we will be tackling division by 10. Yes! Sounds easy, right? Just relax because this is far from all the headaches and mind-boggling feelings. When we divide by 10, the rules and processes are actually similar to the basic division of numbers, it’s just that we will be making numbers 10 times smaller! Firstly, we align the dividend and divisor into columns then put the division line above them. We undergo the process of dividing, multiplying, subtracting, and bringing down. Secondly, let’s start by dividing the highest place value of the dividend by the divisor. Your answer should be put above the division line align with the highest place value of the dividend. Thirdly, we multiply the answer to the divisor itself, the product of it should be put below the number in the dividend with the highest place value. Fourthly, let’s subtract the number in the dividend with the highest place value with the product. The difference between them should be written below the product. And lastly, bring down the next highest place value together with the difference. The process goes on until there will be none left to bring down or only the remainder is left. Usually, when a number is divided by 10, the digit in its ones place forms the remainder and the remaining digits from the quotient. Keep these in mind and you will soon become a division master just like your fellow Math wizards!
