5th grade multiplication by 20 game - Another day, another Math game! Hey, Math wizards! Learning multiplication by 10 is just easy as A, B, C, right? It is not even a hassle to do, you can just easily learn everything within 2 minutes! For today’s lesson, let us continue exploring and discovering the fun and uncomplicated world of Multiplication! And this time, we will be talking about multiplication by twenty! Twenty, a number that can be simple and complex at the same time, but worry less, because doing multiplication by twenty is as simple as singing twinkle, twinkle, little stars! In order for us to learn this, we can simply follow the steps in multiplying numbers by 10. Since both 10 and 20 ends in 0s, transfer the digits to another place going to the left, since zero is acting as a placeholder. Then, continue in multiplying the remaining numbers by 2. You can use your times tables in order for you to be guided when dealing with bigger numbers. Let us proceed to our example: multiply 2 by 20, for us to get the product, shift the digits one place to the left, and continue multiplying the number by 2 to get the product of 40 (2 x 2 is 4, plus 0 at the end). How about for higher numbers, let us multiply 7 by 20, do the same process by shifting the numbers one place to the left then multiply by 7 to have the product of 140 (7 x 2 is 14, plus the 0). It is easy-peasy and unchallenging, right? For sure is! Multiplication is an important tool in a variety of math subjects, including algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and many more. By the end of your primary school, you should be able to rehearse and grasp multiplications up to and including 20 as this will allow you to confidently and successfully tackle more complex mathematical subjects in your next grade level.
